King of Pension Funds

What is included in The King of Pension Funds?

The King of Pension Funds includes every Form 5500 filed with the Department of Labor for employee pension or retirement plans as well as the Judy Diamond Associates exclusive contact information for company decision makers. For more information, please visit our Group Retirement Lead Generation page.

Where do you get your data?

We obtain our plan data directly from the United States Department of Labor. The Employee Retirement Income Securities Act (ERISA) requires U.S. companies offering qualified pension or retirement plans to their employees to submit to the Department of Labor a Form 5500, which includes a wealth of information about the company and the plans they offer.

The 5500 requires the signature of both the plan sponsor and plan administrator. For larger companies (generally those with 100 or more employees), we obtain our contact information for companies’ HR, Benefits, and Finance personnel directly from the employers themselves.

What is the Form 5500?

The Employee Retirement Income Securities Act (ERISA) requires U.S. companies offering pension or retirement plans to their employees to submit to the Department of Labor a Form 5500, which includes a wealth of information about the company and the plans they offer.

What kind of information is included on the Form 5500?

The Form 5500 includes a large amount of detail about each qualified plan in the United States. Smaller companies may file a less comprehensive Form 5500-SF, while larger companies (generally those with 100 or more employees) must file the complete Form 5500. The data these forms collect includes:

All Plans

  • Company location
  • Plan renewal month
  • Plan assets

Large Plans

  • Brokers, consultants and administrators
  • Auditors Report
  • List of mutual funds offered to plan participants

How current is the data?

The King of Pension Funds includes the most recent plan data released by the Department of Labor. While there are exceptions, the plan sponsor must generally file their 5500 within 7 months of the plan year end. Historically, it then took the Department of Labor and the IRS another 12 months to process and disclose the plan data but a new government filing system has reduced that time significantly. To ensure that our contact data remains as fresh as possible we verify it annually.

How often do you update the data?

New data is added as it becomes available, generally on a quarterly basis.

How long will I have access to the data?

Subscriptions are sold on an annual basis, giving you access to our database for one year from your date of purchase.

Is there a limit to the number of times I can contact companies or people I find in The King of Pension Funds?

We don’t place a limit on the number of times you can contact companies in The King of Pension Funds, but we recommend that you employ industry best practices when determining the frequency of your contacts.

What are the Diamond Metrics of Plan Performance?

For each retirement plan, we calculate nine vital statistics every good sales professional needs to know before calling a new prospect. The Diamond Metrics include:

  1. Rate of Return
  2. Rate of Return vs. the S&P 500
  3. Average 401k Contribution
  4. 401k Participation Rate
  5. Commission Rate
  6. Investment Management Fees
  7. Administrative Fees per Participant
  8. Total Contributions as a Percent of Plan Assets
  9. Average Account Balance per Participant

What is the Decile Ranking System?

We calculate how each plan ranks against its peers for each of the nine Diamond Metrics of Plan Performance. We tell you whether a plan is in the top 10% (i.e. the first decile), the bottom 10% (i.e. the tenth decile), or in any of the other eight deciles in the middle. You can use this system to quickly determine how a plan compares to its peers or to your other clients and then to craft a winning sales proposal.

For example, a plan that has an exceptionally high Rate of Return compared to its peers would be in the first decile for that metric. If that same plan has an average 401k Participation rate, it would be in the fifth or sixth decile for that metric.

I am a list reseller. Can I purchase your contact data and distribute them to my customers?

No. Purchasing access to our data is strictly for your individual use. Please view our License page for more details.
